It is not a specific disease that would happen for a reason like stomach problems. But yes we can say that bipolar usually runs through families. It may happen to both men and women and usually in their young adulthood. Women usually suffer from bipolar depression and tend to stay in the low mood as compared to men.

Through different studies, it has been seen that bipolar of course has no certain cause. It happens either if it is present in the genes, due to brain damages. Lastly, stress, which plays a major role.
